One of the most distinctive of all native plants! Blooming in early spring, Prairie Smoke produces small red flowers in groups of three that look a lot like rose-hips, these then burst into unique feathery pink seed heads. Planted in clumps, this has the effect of smoke rising over the attractive, deeply cut leaves! After it has finished blooming the foliage remains attractive throughout the season making a unique ground cover. Click the above image for additional Prairie Smoke photographs.
