Prairie Blazing Star ( Liatris )
Aster Family ( Asteraceae )

Blooms late summer to late fall.
Found throughout the Tallgrass prairie Region 
in moist to open areas.

Equipment used in capturing this image.
Camera: Nikon F4s
         Lens: Nikor 28-85 zoom 
Tripod: Gitzo 320    
   Film: Fuji Velvia (50)

Camera was set up at about 6 foot above ground level.
An aperture of F16 was used to help capture the entire essence of the scene.
